After many hours of training and preparation, including new language learning, our outbound Rotary Youth Exchange (RYE) students officially “graduated.” These high school students will spend the 2026-2027 school year in Brazil, France, Germany, Italy, Slovakia, and Sweden.
Last December, each student learned at the “Big Reveal” event which country they would be traveling to. Since then, students worked at their own pace on individual language study, and together attended training workshops to prepare them for this cultural immersion program.
The Rotary Clubs of Columbus, Decatur, Marietta Metro, Newnan, and Roswell are sponsoring this year’s group of outbound students: Celie, Ellie, Gabby, Irene, Kellen, and Payton. We know they will have an incredible experience!
RYE program applications will open soon for the 2027-2028 academic year. For more information about how your club can sponsor an outbound RYE student or can host an inbound student from abroad, contact Bob MacDonald, District Chair for RYE.
