Monday Night Fun! Sandwiches for Everyone!

Rotary is living our motto - service above self - with a special Monday night meeting with the Sandwich Project.

April 27, 2026 5:45 pm— 8:30 pm at Atlanta International School

In place of our regularly scheduled meeting, we will be going on the road in the evening to the Atlanta International School to make sandwiches to benefit those experiencing food scarcity as part of the Sandwich Project.

We will meet in the outdoor pavilion behind the AIS building to create and assemble sandwiches. We have 1,000 sandwiches to make so bring a friend, work colleague, or significant other and join the assembly line. Afterwards we will be treated to a Mexican taco buffet dinner, adult beverages and social time to celebrate our successful sandwich production. Guests are welcome for $25 to enjoy in the sandwich making and fun.

Atlanta International School, 2890 North Fulton Drive, Atlanta, GA 30305, outdoor pavilion

Together, we’re aiming to make 1,000 Turkey & Cheese sandwiches—and have a lot of fun doing it alongside fellow Rotarians.

These sandwiches will be delivered to:

Boyce L. Ansley School

The Elizabeth Foundation

Atlanta City Baptist Rescue Mission

Midtown Assistance Center

These trusted partners help ensure the sandwiches get directly into the hands of those who need them most in our community.

Service and fellowship? Yes, please. Sign up here or go directly to the calendar.

Rotary on the Road: Shepherd Center

Buckhead Rotary heads on the road for lunch and to hear about the Shepherd Center's therapy dog program. Julie Shepherd along with the Peer support team will be on hand to discuss how the therapy dogs are used in the work they do with patients. This will be followed by a Q&A. We will conclude with an optional tour of the new MCAR building and the new Human Performance Lab. We will meet at our regular time. Please arrive early to grab your lunch and find a seat.

Zoom is not available for this meeting.

Location and Parking: MCAR, Marcus Center for Advanced Rehabilitation, Floor 10

Free, covered parking is available in a dedicated parking deck for the Marcus Center for Advanced Rehabilitation, For GPS, use the address 2060 Peachtree Road NW, Atlanta, GA (at the corner of Peachtree Road and Peachtree Valley Road).

ADA-accessible parking is available on all levels.

Take a ticket when entering the deck — patients and visitors with appointments at the Marcus Center for Advanced Rehabilitation can validate their ticket inside.

Our club’s energy, impact, and future are fueled by the people who join us. So let’s continue to grow, connect, and make every new member feel part of our thriving club.

The Champs are here!

Several Buckhead Rotarians attended the district conference at Lake Lanier Islands last weekend. It was an inspiring few days filled with fresh ideas, meaningful learning, and great fellowship with other clubs in our district. We had the opportunity to share best practices, gain new insights, and strengthen connections that will help us continue making an impact in our community.

And the weekend brought some exciting recognition for our club. Out of 67 clubs in the district, we were honored to be one of only seven to receive the Governor’s Citation. This award recognizes clubs for exceptional service, high-level achievement in key areas such as club growth, foundation giving, service projects, and public image. This is a testament to the dedication and service of our members to continue to strive to be the best Rotary club.

We also proudly took home the Public Image Award in Category IV for large clubs, highlighting the strong presence and visibility we are gaining in our community. And to top it off, one of our very own, Alec Smythe, was recognized with the Above and Beyond Award, an incredible and well-deserved honor. It was a weekend that not only celebrated what we’ve accomplished but also energized us for what’s ahead.
