Mission

Chartered March 23, 1951, it was the mission of the Rotary Club of Buckhead charter members to successfully execute multi-faceted, highly-visible programs and activities designed to contribute substantially to the ideals and aims of Rotary. They wanted to make a difference in the local community and around the world. Today, it is still the mission of Buckhead Rotary. We can look at our community and see the difference we have made.

Who We Are

Buckhead Rotary is one of the largest of the 21 Rotary Clubs in metro Atlanta. Our members are business and professional leaders from the Buckhead and Atlanta business, government, nonprofit and educational communities. Our diverse membership includes professionals, small business owners, educators, business executives, entrepreneurs, consultants and public service leaders.

Buckhead Rotary Foundation

All Rotarians support the Rotary International Foundation which works worldwide on several causes including preventing disease; providing clean water; supporting education; growing local economies; saving mothers and children; and promoting peace. Buckhead Rotary was honored in 2018 for reaching the $1,000,000 milestone of giving to the Rotary International Foundation.

The Rev. Robert Ross Johnson Humanitarian Award

Created in 2000, The Rev. Robert Ross Johnson Humanitarian Award is given annually to a non-Buckhead Rotarian who exemplifies Rotary’s “Service Above Self” by making significant contributions to community humanitarian efforts.

The 2023 Humanitarian Award was presented to Melba Wynn Hill, who is a full time volunteer and has served on the Board of Advisors of the State Botanical Gardens.

Her dedication to helping others while working and raising two daughters has positioned her as one of the many civic leaders and workers who have shaped Atlanta.

Meetings

Our Club meets most Mondays at 12:15 pm at Maggiano’s Little Italy in Buckhead for lunch, fellowship and to hear outstanding speakers.
